Women and food security

From 28/09/20 to 08/10/20 - Discussion en ligne

RPCA members participate in the online discussion on the theme “Towards a gender-responsive approach to food and nutrition security in the Sahel and West Africa”, organised by Sahel and West Africa Club Secretariat (SWAC/OECD) and the OECD Development Centre from 28 September to 9 October 2020.

Gender inequality is one of the key drivers behind food insecurity among women. Yet current responses fail, or do too little, to address the deeply entrenched structural barriers that hamper their food security.

  • What value lies in a gender-responsive approach to food and nutrition security?
  • Why is it important to involve men and boys?
  • What are some of the lessons learned and good practices around gender-responsive programming?
