As the region enters the lean season, members of the Regional System for the Prevention and Management of Food Crises (PREGEC) met on 17-18 June 2021, in Cotonou and by videoconference to monitor preparations for the new 2021-22 agro-pastoral season. They also analysed the food and nutrition situation in at-risk areas and examined national response plans. It reviewed the results of the seasonal climate and hydrological forecasts for the 2021-22 period. The PREGEC brought together some forty experts from the 17 member countries of the ECOWAS-UEMOA-CILSS area as well as international partners.
