The Sahel and West Africa region is facing a a chronic food and nutrition insecurityr, with 42.5 million people at risk during the 2023 lean season.RPCA members call for continued and strengthened political and financial commitments to eradicate the underlying causes of food and nutrition insecurity in the region. The policy brief  draws on the conclusions of the annual and restricted meetings, held on 6-9 December 2022 and 12-14 April 2023 respectively. It highlights some key messages as well as major implications for regional organisations (ECOWAS, UEMOA, CILSS).
