Hosted by the Republic of Benin and held under the patronage of the Commissions of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), the 33rd RPCA annual meeting brought together some 300 food and nutrition security stakeholders. RPCA Members reviewed provisional results of the 2017-18 agro-pastoral campaign and analysed the food and nutrition situation. This year’s thematic focus was placed on innovative and territorial approaches to food and nutrition security recognising the need to tailor policy responses to local contexts and challenges. The 5-year anniversary of the Global Alliance for Resilience (AGIR) offered a timely opportunity to seek renewed political engagement in AGIR.
