36th RPCA annual meeting, opening remarks, by Ibrahim Assane Mayaki

In his opening remarks, Dr Ibrahim Assane Mayaki, Honorary President of the Sahel and West Africa Club (SWAC), recalls two priority areas of SWAC aimed at supporting the regional reflection: 1) Support the innovation process of prevention, intervention, early warning and governance instruments for food and nutrition security in general; and 2) improve the understanding of the region’s food systems and structural weaknesses with a view to making action more efficient. In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, the 36th RPCA annual meeting will be held on 3 December 2020 by videoconference.
