Joint statement of the high-level meeting, held on 18 June 2012 in Brussels. H.E. Mr Cheikhe Hadjibou Soumaré, President of the UEMOA Commission attended the event. The meeting launched the process which led to the establishment of the Global Alliance for Resilience (AGIR) – Sahel and West Africa, a long-term political partnership to support and better co-ordinate resilience initiatives in the Sahel and West Africa.
