For the second consecutive year, the region must prepare for a major food and nutrition crisis in 2021. Provisional estimates of last December indicate that more than 20 million people might need emergency food and nutrition assistance in June-August 2021, if appropriate measures are not taken. Via videoconference, the RPCA members will examine the final results of the 2020-21 agro-pastoral campaign and validate key findings of the Cadre harmonisé analysis on the food and nutrition situation. They will examine the responses to be implemented in the face of the 2021 food crisis, capitalising on the results and the lessons learned from the 2020 crisis. Co-ordination issues will remain central to the discussion.
