Echoes of the rural world, no. 01
Published : July 2020
This first issue of the monthly information note of the Monitoring and Action Committee presents the viewpoints of 12 regional networks of farmer organisations, civil society and other actors active in the agro-forestry and fisheries value chains in West and Central Africa, on the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic. “Rural populations in general – farmers, livestock breeders, fishermen – are hard hit by the effects of this pandemic which is threatening the foundations of their existence”, warns Mamadou Cissokho, ROPPA honorary president. The information note also includes information on forthcoming projects for the rural world and a presentation of the 12 members of the Monitoring and Action Committee.
