Impact of the COVID-19 crisis on food and nutrition security in the Sahel and West Africa, no. 01 Download

Published : April 2020

This information brief, produced by CILSS/AGRHYMET, highlights the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis on food and nutrition security in the Sahel and West Africa. It includes an overview of the health and nutrition situation. The brief also analyses the development of agricultural markets, the pastoral situation as well as the living conditions of households in the context of COVID-19. While the desert locust situation is so far “calm” and “under control” in the Sahel and West Africa, the paper presents recommendations to continue monitoring the situation and promote concerted action at the regional level.
