This information note, prepared by the Regional Food and Nutrition Security Working Group (West Africa), sounds the alarm: 16.7 million people were food insecure across the Sahel and West Africa at the end of 2020. If no action is taken quickly, nearly 23.6 million people will be in a crisis situation or worse during the lean season  (June-August 2021).
