Funded by the European Union Emergency Trust Fund for Africa and implemented by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the project targets the populations of Ziguinchor in Senegal. Activities help meet the basic needs of the most vulnerable through income-generating activities, such as the diversification and improvement of agricultural production. The project also aims to ensure easy access to clean water, adequate sanitation facilities and hygiene in order to improve health conditions. Finally, the project seeks to mitigate the effects of the use of mines and explosive remnants of war on civilian populations in order to allow the displaced persons access to their fields or a return to their villages of origin in complete safety.
