Funded by the European Union Emergency Trust Fund for Africa with a contribution from UNICEF, this project targeted young children affected by Boko Haram. Over 1 380 000 children in Borno who have been impacted by the conflict and are in need of assistance. The action helped build resilience among these children, strengthening the provision of and access to community child protection services and mental health and psychosocial support services. The action also supported the reintegration of boys and girls associated with armed groups through individual and family support and community dialogue to mitigate the risk of secondary trauma resulting from rejection, stigma and violence by communities and families. It also reduced the risk of future radicalisation.
