4th Ordinary Session of the Steering committee, conclusions and décisions
The Sahel and West Africa region is facing a major food and nutrition crisis for the third consecutive year, with 38.3 million people at risk during the 2022 lean season. RPCA members have called for a mobilisation to act quickly in the face of the food and nutrition emergency, but also for a long-term political commitment to tackle the underlying causes of the food and nutrition crises. The note to decision-makers is based on the conclusions of the annual and restricted meetings, held respectively on 6-8 December 2022 and 6-8 April 2022. It presents two key messages and some major implications for regional organisations (ECOWAS, UEMOA, CILSS).
