Community based sustainable Food Security of Smallholder Rice Producer Farmers Project (Inland Valley Swamp-IVS)
The project provide support to rice farmers, especially to women’s groups in Masimera and Buya Romende in Port Loko district, by reinforcing their capacity, and enabling them to rehabilitate and maintain swamplands to grow rice. Also implemented in Liberia, the project works with 450 farming households, about 2,250 people in Sierra Leone, providing farmers with improved rice seeds, tools and technical support for better irrigation to rehabilitate 100 hectares of inland valley swampland.
