Emergency support to vulnerable households affected by the 2013 food crop shortage

The project aims to contribute to the protection of productive assets and livelihoods, improving the food security situation of vulnerable populations located in areas with agricultural deficit. Implemented activities are: (i) facilitated large-scale introduction of improved seed variety by strengthening the local and national seed multiplication programme; (ii) procured and distributed 700 tonnes of millet, 100 tonnes of sorghum and 287.5 tonnes of cowpea seed to targeted beneficiaries.
