Forest and farm facility Program

The project aims to promote sustainable forest and farm management by supporting local, national, regional and international organizations and platforms for effective engagement in policies and investments that meet the needs of local people. The project is based on three pillars: i) strengthen smallholder, women’s, community and Indigenous Peoples’ producer organisations for business/livelihoods and policy engagement; ii) catalyse multi-sectoral stakeholder policy platforms with Government at local and national levels; and iii) link local voices and learning to global processes through communication and information dissemination.

 

Objectif global

To promote sustainable forest and farm management by supporting forest and farm producer organizations and ANR working group and platform for effective engagement in policies, investments that meets the needs of the local people

To strengthen smallholders, local communities and women organizations improved business, livelihoods and effective engagement in policies

To catalyse multi-stakeholder platform (ANR) with government for enhanced policy dialogue

To link local voice and learning to global arena through communication, genuine participatory processes and information sharing

Relevant principles for sustainable forest and farm management mainstreamed into national policies and planning for improved markets for local producers

Capacities and instruments put in place to enable local communities sustainably manage forests and farms and to mitigate and adapt to climate change

Dispersed local forest and farm smallholder’s women organized and strengthened to cooperate in networks, alliances and federations

Government’s inter-ministerial multi-stakeholder platforms/communities established and coordinated (involving local organizations, civil societies and the private sector)

Collaboration for policy dialogue between the smallholder, women, community, private sector and government enhanced

International and regional organizations representing smallholders and women in international fora and negotiations have established communication and information channels for their respective constituencies at national and local levels
