Rubber Outgrowers Plantation Project Phases IV and V
This project is the fourth phase of a rubber outgrowers project financed by AFD since 1995. Based on a tripartite agreement between ADB, as the financial operator, GREL, as technical operator, and ROAA (Rubber Outgrowers and Agents Association) representing the interest of farmers, the project is aimed at financing new outgrowers (excluding beneficiaries of previous phases) to develop plantings in the Western and Central Regions, each farmer planting a maximum of 4 ha. During the phase IV, 10,500 ha of rubber were planted by 2,750 new outgrowers. It is expected that phase V of the project will also allow for the planting of 12,000 ha of rubber by 4,000 new smallholder farmers.
